We use FloQast as a close monitoring tool, for auto-recs and also for SOX compiance. Additionally, we use ReMind for accruals.

  • ReMind for accruals
  • Continue building out auto-recs
  • Improved SOX reporting
Similar to Blackline and Cadency Trintech, FloQast does close monioring and SOX compliance extremely well. Where FloQast differentiates itself however is in their superior customer service, plus constant innovation.

We use FloQast to manage our close process and other recurring tasks across the Accounting team. We have a 5-day close, which requires us to be efficient. It helps to keep track of all of the activities required to close the books, track the status, and also ensure completeness. We also track the status of balance sheet reconciliations using FloQast.
  • Provides a clear status of the month end close.
  • Allows us to analyze tasks by team member and reassign as needed.
  • It syncs with our ERP Netsuite to ensure balance sheet reconciliations can be tied out directly.
  • It also connects with Slack to notify users of key deadlines and changes in review status for team tasks.
  • The file attachments have a size limit, which can be frustrating for teams working with large data sets.
  • Providing a consolidated status of close is not possible, only an entity by entity view.
  • The auto recon feature isn’t that helpful with larger data sets. Still requires human input to finalize and tie out fully.
Floqast is an easy tool to implement. It also fits into your existing close process rather than forcing your team to adjust their process to do with the tool. It also helps to reduce the time to close, as all team members have a clear line of sight of their assigned tasks and due dates and provide notifications as functions are reviewed.

I and my team use FloQast daily for our monthly close checklist and account reconciliations. We've loaded each team member's daily tasks into the FloQast checklist. I hold meetings during our financial close and throughout the month to follow up on regular tasks. As a manager, the checklist is a valuable tool in communicating expectations and holding team members accountable. The check list significantly boosts efficiency across our teams on the regular tasks leaving us more time to coordinate and sort out the unnusual tasks. It is very simple to add tasks and customize the tasks for whatever needs to be done. The built in analytics of completion for checklist tasks and account reconciliations help me quickly understand what work my team has done and what we need to focus on going forward. I use the % completion analytics by team member frequently to ensure we are going in the right direction. The reatures of FloQast are expecially helpful in a remote work environment. Again, very valuable as a manager/leader.
  • Customizing tasks on checklist (Description, preparer, reviewer, due date, etc.
  • Reconciliation preparation, review signoffs and review notes documentation
  • Analytics on task/reconciliation completion/on track/incomplete/late.
  • The flux analysis. This is a great idea for simple company structures. [...] has 25+ subsidiaries and the Flux analysis can only be viewed as a BS or IS by Subsidiary. If there was a way to view the flux at a consolidated level by unique sub/account combo, it would be more helpful. Currently, it is more clunky than useful for our application.
  • Mass checklist/reconciliation updates or creation. We've had issues with successfully uploading data in an accurate way.
  • A way to automate account recon creation when new accounts are created in the accounting software. The Completeness check is a good controll to identify accounts in the accounting software that have not been added in FloQast but the next step would be to have an easier or automated solution for adding those accounts to NetSuite. Again, this is coming from a company with alot of subsidiaries and we keep adding more and large number of accounts often need to be added to FloQast all at once.
FloQast excels at tracking, and coordinate the different stages of a financial close. It is super useful for larger operations and teams where several tasks need to be coordinated in order. For smaller companies and teams, it may not be worth it because you may not utilize it to its fullest capabilities.

We are using FloQast to control the quality of account reconciliations. Users are required to upload detailed account reconciliations along with a breakdown of the balance as it appears on the trial balance. Until the balance as per the file containing the account reconciliation and balance as per Trial balance does not match exactly, the system will not allow the user to sign off the reconciliation in Floqast. Further, the reconciliation goes to the manager for his review. If he is satisfied with the quality of the details uploaded on Floqast, he approves the reconciliation to complete the sign of that particular account.
  • Creating a checklist of the activities to be completed for any period close.
  • Summary of signed-off and open account reconciliations for user and manager.
  • Integration with ERP system for updation of Trial balance.
  • More controls on quality of reconciliations needed to sign off.
FloQast is quite suitable where the management wants to maintain their books of accounts to be very accurate through continuous and detailed sign-off mechanisms for account reconciliations and a checklist of activities to be followed for the period close (monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.) This will ensure the good quality of account records that will support management during the various audit purposes.

We use FloQast for our monthly and annual reconciliations. It is a great tool for managing the close. FloQast helps identify where processes in the close are taking more time and needs more focus. We also use it as a tool during our audits. The sign off of recons and also storing documents in FloQast helps make audits much easier.
  • Great for audit support
  • Great tool for monthly and annual close
  • Great for tracking where the efficiency and inefficiencies are
  • A calendar look to see all tasks/projects in one view
FloQast is a great tool to use during the close. Being able to see where the bottle necks are helps identify where my team needs to focus. Having that information helps improve our close process. The sign offs of the reconciliations and also being able save the supporting documentation in one place is great for our annual audits.

Floqast has been an invaluable addition to our month-end close process and allows our remotely distributed team to collaborate and communicate quickly and effectively throughout our entire close cycle - from our first journal entries through our reporting package distribution to management. In addition to the checklist module, the reconciliation functionality allows us to always ensure real-time alignment with our ERP, and documents clean review notes and action items. The flux module helps us ensure we can easily investigate and comment on unexpected results and trends or even compare to our budgets/forecasts. It's a great tool for any finance & accounting team to effectively manage your close, I would strongly recommend!
  • I can easily see at any point in time tasks are still pending completion, what's ready for my review, what reconciliations have been modified and are now out of balance.
  • The analytics section does a great job of highlighting bottlenecks on certain roles/individuals or even on certain days of the close calendar. With ease, we were able to redistribute responsibilities and close on a much more consistent and accurate basis.
  • We've been able to use the Remind functionality quite effectively to obtain unrecorded liability details from key vendors, prompt our engineering team to complete their submissions for capitalized software requirements, and remind spend owners to attach outstanding receipts to credit card transactions.
  • It would be great to see drill down capabilities between account reconciliations/flux analyses that links to our transactional data in our ERP.
  • I would like to see a litte more customization available in the analytics tab to add custom filter drop downs.
  • I believe this is close to being released, but I'd like to see anticipated time commitments on the task level to be able to easily review capacity type reporting/analytics.
I think FloQast is really well suited for most accounting teams that work collaboratively on the closing cycle, but will especially work well for distributed teams that work in multiple time zones. Adoption has really been key for our success in the tool. If your users are committed to marking off items as they complete them, the tool works great. If you can't get members/teams to consistently check-off tasks or reconciliations, it can be a bit challenging to be able to comprehend and analyze the results.

We use Floqast to manage our monthly and quarterly close process. The main modules we use are Close, Autorec, Remind and Analytics. Floqast has made tracking tasks and outstanding items easier and allowed the team to identify blockers that impacted our close. It allowed us to automate a lot of simple recurring tasks like outreach emails, reminders, as well as ensuring reconciliations are always in sync with our ERP.
  • Floqast is very simple and intuitive to use. It takes very little time to onboard and get started with a simple close process but it offers a breadth of features for power users and more complex organizations.
  • We have a great relationship with our account manager and they have been very receptive to our feedback. It feels like Floqast is a true partner with us and helping us to grow.
  • Centralizes all documentation for our end users.
  • Floqast Autorec feature is helpful for simple accounts but may prove to be problematic for large or complex accounts because of its reliance on its proprietary matching algorithms. More options and control over the reconciliation rulesets may help to alleviate this issue.
  • Floqast does not have a journal entry workflow which means that Floqast can not function as a one stop shop for the close. You will need to operate within your ERP.
  • It will be nice to have the ability to tap into other data sources like our banks or our data warehouse.
Floqast is perfect for an organization looking to move away from an Excel or Google Sheets based close management process. It is structured in a manner that makes the transition for such an organization simple and easy. In addition, there are features available that will allow an organization to grow with the platform.
Where I see limitations with Floqast is with complex organizations with 20+ entities to manage across multiple teams. In these cases, automation to help with the close(either in journal entry generation or account reconciliation) is required for scale and Floqast does not have a lot of features that help teams with this.

I use it for reconciling our balance sheet accounts. WE also use the form in order to keep track of our month task.
  • letting us know when this have become off balance
  • Keeping Track of our to do list
  • that transaction that change the reconciliation
  • To notify of new comments
This was the first company that has Floqast and I have enjoyed it.
It is very suitable for tracking purposes and keeping the team aligned with timing and approvals for the month end close.

It is not perfect because we cannot dive into what makes an account out of balance after it is already approved. Also, it doesn't have analytics tied with it.

FloQast allows our remote team across multiple organizations to effectively manage the close process. The dashboard is most helpful for me managing multiple closes, and the Notes feature allows me the ability to see my comments across all of our portfolio companies. FloQast saves us days in our process by keeping us organized and syncing with our ERP seamlessly
  • Financial close management
  • Seamless integrations
  • Consistently impactful product development/enhancement
  • We've struggled to use the flux analysis, but that has more to do with our ERP
FloQast gets exponentially more useful the larger the organization is, so it's well suited for those in growth mode. I think it might be overkill for a small mom and pop company with a team of just a couple people, but other than that there's not any scenario I can think of that FloQast would not be helpful

FloQast helps me stay organized and prioritize my tasks during the month. It reminds me when items are due or late. I like that it keeps files related to the close process in organized folders. This helps us when we have audits. FloQast notifies you when reconciliations are off balance in case someone makes changes after you have closed the period. It gives the user an accurate and timely view of the reconciliations. It's very user friendly and information is updated quickly every time you refresh. I highly recommend it.
  • Reminds you of tasks that are coming up due
  • Refreshes quickly
  • It's easy to use
  • Sometimes it doesn't refresh and I have to come back to it later in the day
  • At first, it was hard to find the folders and tasks assigned to me because I wasn't familiar with the filters
It makes the close process easy and it allows upper management visibility of where we are in the process

We primarily use Floqast as our financial close tool. This tool provides much needed visibility and aligns expectations as to who is performing which tasks and the date they are expected to be completed. This also allows management to easily check on the progress of the close without checking with each individual. Lastly, it ensures the balance sheet reconciliations tie to the final balance due to the sync with our ERP system.
  • Easily syncs with ERP system to ensure updated balances are reflected
  • Alerts team members when their reconciliation no longer ties to the balance sheet
  • Provides a centralized place for review notes and responses
  • The cost is per user so as you grow this software can become quite expensive
I can't think of a better financial close tool than Floqast. They also have quite a bit more functionality which we have not used yet, such as Flux and Remind. As I have not yet used these features unfortunately I cannot speak to those specifically.

My company uses FloQast primarily for month-end close. Prior to FloQast my close checklist consisted of an excel spreadsheet with haphazard notes, and it was difficult to keep track of what tasks I already completed and which items were still open. Additionally, there wasn't an easy way to see if account balances had changed post reconciliation, and all of my reconciliation reporting was very scattered. Enter FloQast. FloQast's dashboard shows you your progress for close, down to which items are late or on-time, what's still left to do, etc. All of my close GL accounts are in one place, I can easily see if an account balance has changed, I can see what tasks need to be done by a certain date, and on top of that it's incredibly user friendly. The approval feature is excellent as well, as you can add multiple approvers to review the work that's been done before locking the account. The aesthetic of the site is visually pleasing as well, which is a plus. It's massively changed how we do close tasks and I honestly can't imagine pulling out my Excel spreadsheets and going back to my old methods.
  • Allows the user to stay organized, consolidating all tasks into one place
  • Allows the user to see quickly and obviously if an account balance has changed since it's been reconciled, which is great if there are multiple QB users
  • Allows the user to set deadlines for weekly and close tasks so you always know when an item is due
  • Gives you a snapshot of your close and/or weekly progress in the dashboard so you know exactly what needs to be tackled
  • I would love to see a more customizable dashboard, where users could change the color themes and make it a bit more tailored to them
  • When uploading a new trial balance, it can take a few "refresh" clicks before the new balances are uploaded - this is a very minor thing, but that could be a bit faster
  • I believe the minimum user amount is currently six users - it would be really cool to see a small business version of FloQast for a lower rate so smaller companies could still access these features
I feel that any company that wants clean accounting would absolutely benefit from using FloQast. Our company uses it with all of our clients, across a broad range of industries, and it is universally applicable. Recently we onboarded a new client whose books were several months behind, with a ton of items missing and hardly any reconciliation or close work done. FloQast was absolutely integral to us getting their books caught up, organized, and all of the close items in one place. Once the catch-up work was done, the following months' closes were so much smoother and more organized, and we were able to stick to our close deadlines consistently, all because of FloQast. Additionally, when I first started working for my company, one of the first things I was able to do was put all of my weekly task items into FloQast in the non-close section. It was very helpful to be able to check off my tasks each week, and allowed me to feel confident that there weren't items I was missing or forgetting to complete.

FloQast has become an instrumental tool in our monthly close process. We have our monthly checklist, as well as all balance sheet reconciliations housed in FloQast. It has alllowed us to streamline our close process and created awareness around where we are at in the process. Additionally, we utilize the AutoRec functionality to reconcile thousands of transactions per month. We are primarily an e-Commerce business distributing products throughout the United States. We utilize the AutoRec feature to ensure that the cash we receive matches the revenue recorded for each of those transactions.
  • The AutoRec feature is a massive time saver for high volume reconciliation.
  • The monthly close checklist is very helpful to ensure nothing gets missed each period and create addiitonal accountability to due dates and completion dates.
  • Being able to leave and assign notes on certain tasks helps ensure everyone is aligned and knows what is going on with each close.
  • FloQast can continue to improve in notification settings and being able to determine when notifications are triggered. Currently, I get many teams notifications per day, including one at midnight every night.
FloQast is an excellent tool for streamlining and managing the close process. The ability to set all tasks with due dates, preparers, and reviewers is great.

Our company uses FloQast in the Finance and Accounting department to help with many processes including our month-end close, billing, payroll processing, FP&A, reporting, and taxes. This product helps with maintaining controls, establishing workflows, enabling easy collaboration, and ensuring proper procedures are followed in all our processes. It also provides for backup for our outside auditors.
  • Integration with ERP system to ensure proper reconciliations with backup documentation
  • Controls to ensure all procedures followed, signed off, and reviewed
  • Collaboration both within FloQast and with outside parties through ReMind
  • Large reconciliation are made easier through AutoRec features
  • Facilitates recurring entries for prepaids, amortization, and depreciation with AutoRec features
  • Tracks progress of month-end close and provides information regarding bottlenecks
  • Lacks project management functionality, though I believe this is currently being developed
  • Lacks FP&A integrations
  • Ordering checklist items can be difficult
  • Doesn't take into consideration dependencies in checklist items
FloQast is better suited the more employees in Finance there are that must collaborate in month-end closes. It makes collaboration much easier with tracking notes, sign-offs, and third party communication in ReMind. It may be a bit expensive for small businesses with smaller accounting teams of one or two people.

Floqast helps manage accounting close cycles efficiently and ensure that month end is completed in a timely manner. FQ ReMind also helps with automating email confirmations when needing to send out mass confirmation communications. • Better 3rd party software integration
  • Customized mass templates
  • AI driven reminders
Floqast is meant for large companies that want to scale their operations in a meaningful way. Instead of relying on human memory, Floqast helps organize a multitude of tasks where checklists are required to coordinate to ensure teams to deliver results in a timely fashion. This may not be useful for smaller companies or teams where there are not as many tasks to track.

FloQast helps us speed up our reconciliation process with the auto rec feature. This is very helpful with bigger accounts and saves time. Instead of matching individual transactions, FloQast does it in a matter of a minute or so (depending on the account size). I enjoy being able to sort by name and the status of my reconciliations. With being a larger company and having a lot of accounts we reconcile, this feature is one of my favorites.
  • Good customer service.
  • The Autorec feature does well.
  • The website is user-friendly.
  • If the transaction screen on autorec reflects not matching the GL.
Being able to change the assigned statuses is extremely helpful. It filters it so I can focus on what I need to do and not have extra noise. Autorec saves a lot of time versus having to match transactions manually.

In our business, we are using FloQast to track our monthly accounting close. FloQast integration with our accounting ERP system will help us to identify differences in our manual reconciliations and ERP system balances. Also, this will help managers to track the process and follow up with relevant parties. As a Manager, this helps me to keep up with my accounting close activities.
  • Tracking task completion dates
  • Comparing ERP balance with manual reconciliations
  • Detailed dashboard for easy understanding
  • Direct Chat room within the APP
  • Ability create subtasks under main task
  • Customize reports section

We use FloQast to track and smoothly manage the month-end close and reporting process. It saves time wasted contacting each other for status updates and makes it easier to spot pinch points and opportunities to speed up close. It centralizes what was three different close checklists. It stores documentation in our cloud (control of documents is important to us), making it easier to review remotely and permission auditor access. It makes it easier to document not just what is to be done but how and why, which has helped significantly with transitioning duties from old to new team members, either piecemeal over time or in one click transition from an old associate to a new one. It is extremely logical and intuitive, requiring almost no training to get up and running, which has really helped with adoption by users. It is easy to use for standardizing as well as for flexible for easily adding ad-hoc items that come up. Our team loves it, our management loves it, our IT loves it, and our auditors praise us for having it.
  • Status tracking team members progress
  • Syncing with NetSuite for accurate amounts in real time
  • Open items and review questions
  • I have none, they're constantly thinking of more value to add though
If you're tracking close steps in Excel or on paper, you need this. If your team is more than two people and especially if they don't sit next to each other, this will keep you connected. If you want to go paperless, this will help. If you have auditors, this will be half of your PBC list.

Our firm provides accounting and close services to a wide variety of clients. FloQast is the number tool used in our business. It not only provides for an incredibly smooth close every month, organizing us as a team, streamlining communications, and keeping us audit ready all year long. It also includes all kinds of great tools for everyday workflow organization. With a 5 person team, we are able to close the books for multiple businesses within 15 days.
  • FloQast makes it easy to assign each and every balance sheet account to an individual for reconciliation each month, with another person for review. Deadlines are assigned, and it is simple to track and follow up. No more having things "fall through the cracks" or be accidentally forgotten.
  • Document storage occurs simply with FloQast. It is so easy to attach any documentation related to reconciliation or tasks. This makes finding everything you need for an audit request so simple!
  • Anytime changes need to be made to assignments or new accounts need to be added to the monthly reconciliation list, it is incredibly easy for the account administrator to make the changes. These tasks are not cumbersome at all.
  • The process of getting the monthly trial balance ready for the flux analysis could be improved. Right now, that is cumbersome. It may be because we use QB Desktop
  • The home page is still a little overwhelming to look at when one has a lot of entities. But FloQast is continually making upgrades and changes, so I expect this will continue to improve
Any company looking to organize chaos in their accounting department for reconciliation ownership/responsibilities and close processes would love this product. And anyone who simply likes a tool that speaks to organization. Even if you are already highly organized, this tool will make you so happy!

I use FloQast to keep track of the timeline of my (and others) month-end close tasks as well as account reconciliations. With over 40 people in our Finance department contributing to the close process, FloQast keeps everyone on track and ensure a timely and smooth close every month. Additionally, FloQast's ability to pull data from NetSuite for account reconciliations makes it a breeze to guarantee accurate information for account reconciliations.
  • FloQast is able to navigate our complex corporate structure to pull account balances from every entity accurately. It hasn't been incorrect so far.
  • FloQast keeps everything organized. I find it very helpful to be able to filter on a particular tags. For example, specific 10Q tasks which are only needed quarterly are tagged "q_preparation." It just keeps it simple.
  • Because some close tasks must be done before other close tasks can be started, FloQast allows me to be notified when that individual has signed off on their completed task, allowing for maximum efficiency.
  • Refreshing all of our entities' account balances in the Reconciliation Module can take a while or sometimes even get stuck and never complete. I imagine we don't have nearly as many entities as some larger companies. I believe there is some room for improvement there.
For companies with large finance teams and numerous entities, I think FloQast is a must because their is no way a timely month end close could be done without it. Being able to see everyone's tasks and when they are due allows me to plan accordingly. Instead of relying on a coworker to either email or slack me that they've finished something which just slows everyone down, I am notified immediately that they have completed their assigned close tasks.

We use to manage month end close checklists and our reconciliation process.
  • Keeps our tasks organized, and asigns tasks out well.
  • Makes the reconciliation process easy by integrating in our balance sheet and connecting excel recons.
  • Easy to add accounts and tasks.
  • Has metrics on how the close cycle is progressing.
  • Maybe set up for recons more like BlackLine, with required lines in the module for the reconciliations, to force people to reconcile the accounts.
  • A way to require people to respond and close out their review notes on reconciliations before they can proceed to the next mo
enables our close to be very organized and easy to manage.

My essential duties at my current organization include reconciling multiple GL Accounts each month. I use FloQast to do these reconciliations by matching reports from the financial software with uploaded trial balances in FloQast. In addition, all relevant documents are able to be saved in the folders that are directly tied to the reconciliation they support. This enables the documents to be at the ready for audit time. Basically everything is packaged in a neat and tidy way for the auditors when they are looking over the books.
  • Store documents with the actual close. No more hunting for the backup.
  • Allows the team to easily collaborate and ask questions about something specific. That note is ties to the piece of data the question is referring to.
  • Allows for automating tasks.
I really enjoy the ease of use, I find the system to be user friendly and intuitive.

FloQast has added a lot of transparency to our close process and helped us manage workflows and workloads of staff. We can easily see any bottlenecks as well as regularly late submissions to help support those areas of the business. We can also hold members of the business directly accountable tasks and reconciliations, which we never had the ability to do in the past with too many moving parts. We have deep-dived into our close process and streamlined many of our reconciliations for ease of use as well as adding a lot of consistency that was never in place beforehand. After only one quarter from our full launch, the team is full of nothing but compliments for the software and I am sure we will continue to utilize the system to its full capabilities and make further progress in reducing the time taken for our close process.
  • Transparency
  • Provides great analytics
  • Organized structure fully customizable for the needs of the business
  • Documents all stored in one central place, accessible from anywhere
  • Unsure as we are still early in our journey
Notification system is great for "ready to review" or reconciliations that have gone out of balance. It means you can jump direct to the tasks in questions and tackle them head-on. Recorded review points giving full transparency of the close process, these are all recorded as is a great communication tool between team members. It has helped reduce our close time already by around half a day and we are hoping to see more benefits as time progresses.
